Grunley Holds Topping Out Party at 1355 17th Street, NW

On Tuesday, November 5, 2013, Grunley held a topping out party at its 1355 17th Street, NW, project site. Here, the firm is constructing a new nine-story, 163,997 square foot luxury apartment building for Keener-Squire Properties. The final concrete deck pour was completed the day before the festivities.

Over 200 individuals participated in the ceremony, including representatives of Keener-Squire Properties, Eric Colbert & Associates, PC (the Architect), First Baptist Church (congregants will share an elevator and parking with the new building tenants), Grunley Construction, major subcontractors and their tradesmen. Everyone was treated to a BBQ luncheon.

Grunley Senior Superintendent Anthony Hager thanked everyone for their hard work in achieving this important milestone and offered words of encouragement to ensure the project is delivered successfully. The new building will be completed in the Spring of 2014 and will provide 218 units with three levels of below-grade parking. This is the second luxury apartment building that Grunley is constructing for Keener-Squire Properties; the other building is nearing completion at 1919 14th Street, N.W.
