This project consisted of the design and construction of an Emergency Services Center for police fire and emergency forces located at Fort Belvoir Army Base Virginia. The Fire Station is composed of three main types of functional areas Apparatus Bays the high bay area where the vehicles are stored Residential area where the firemen sleep shower eat and relax and Administration area the area where the offices and training are located along with the only area accessible to the public The Fire Station serves two companies and accommodates five emergency vehicles with 200 square yards for organizational vehicle parking. The facility covers an area of approximately 5 acres. The building was designed with architectural planning and circulation considerations for fire station and emergency services usage. The build- ings pre-engineered metal apparatus bays are 20high and accommodate emergency vehicles and fire engines which provide emergency services for the Fort Belvoir base. The center earned LEED NC 2.0 Silver certification.
