Fairfax High School

Renovation and New Additions

This project involved the renovation of a 350,000 square foot academic facility, the construction of three new additions totaling 73,000 square feet and extensive site work. The renovation portion of the contract updated classroom space, athletic locker rooms, the main gym, cafeteria, auditorium, and an auto shop. The three new additions feature classroom space, a science wing with laboratories and teachers offices, and the main entrance to the school. Grunley also created a new layout for the parking area and entrance for cars and buses. Landscaping included new seed, sod, trees and entrance sidewalks. All work was performed while the school remained occupied by students and faculty during the day and open to the public for City of Fairfax community activities in the evening.
