Fort Detrick Auditorium & Training Center

Fort Detrick Auditorium & Training Center

Renovation and Expansion

Grunley and our joint venture partner gutted and rebuilt the Fort Detrick Training Center. We constructed a new entrance with aluminum curtain wall system, a vegetated membrane roof and a new second floor with associated elevator and staircase. New space was created for classrooms, offices and conference rooms and a connector link added to join the center to the adjacent existing library. We also constructed a new 10,000 square foot, 350-seat community auditorium within the existing building. The auditorium features theater lighting and new audio-visual and communication systems. New energy-efficient mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems were installed throughout the Training Center. The project is seeking LEED Certified status.
