George Peabody Library

Fire/Life Safety Upgrades and Skylight Replacement

Grunley installed new fire protection systems throughout the Main Stack, Rare Book Room, Exhibition Gallery, and Catering Kitchen as well as workrooms, offices and support spaces. Construction was completed while the Peabody Library remained open and fully operational. This was Grunley's second contract at the historic George Peabody Library (c. 1878) located in Baltimore's Mount Vernon neighborhood.

Grunley completed structural enhancements to the original cast iron trusses; installed four new catwalks, including trolley fall protection systems; and fully replaced the existing skylight system at the visually stunning George Peabody Library, located in Baltimore’s historic Mount Vernon neighborhood.
