MARC Edgewood Station

Improvements

This project involved the construction of a new MARC station building in Edgewood, Maryland with full architectural, mechanical, and electrical support amenities; including water, sanitary, natural gas, electrical, emergency power and communication lines connecting service mains along Old Edgewood Road with the station. Two new shelters were added, one features a built-in lift. The entire main parking lot was repaved and a new storm water management system was installed underneath. Complex ADA ramps were constructed on both the southbound and northbound sides of the station. The new construction was performed without a single interruption to commuter traffic.

The project received a 2014 Award of Excellence from the Maryland Quality Initiative for Modal Projects Under $5 Million. The project was recognized for its innovative upgrades that enhanced both the utility of the site and the user experience.
