Udvar Hazy Center Roof Replacement

Grunley repaired and replaced select areas of the exterior envelope and roof at the Smithsonian Institution National Air and Space Museum’s Udvar Hazy Museum Center. The project’s scope included excavating and waterproofing the foundation wall along the east façade; installing metal counter flashing at the top perimeter of new waterproofing; installing canopies at exit doors; removing the exterior Centria metal panel wall system and interior batt insulation to make room for new metal panel wall systems; and installing an overlay on the existing roof of the barrel airplane hangar.
