Interior and Exterior Renovation

Grunley renovated the U.S. Forest Service’s Sidney Yates Headquarters Building, a National Register of Historic Places facility. Throughout the 195,000 SF building, Grunley’s team installed mechanical, electrical, HVAC and fire protection systems; added a new entryway and conference areas; and installed new windows. Within a 10,500 SF area of the building, we completed a tenant fit-out for the USDA Child Development Center (CDC).

The exterior construction project was completed in accordance with historic preservation requirements and involved upgrades to the façade including as re-pointing mortar and masonry repairs; window repainting and repairs; perimeter gutter replacement; repairs to moats and moat railings; and repainting doors, lamp posts and other ornamental elements. The building remained occupied throughout the exterior restoration and access to the building was secure and controlled.
