Interior Fit Out of House and Senate Expansion Space

Grunley completed the fit-out of over 170,000 square feet of expansion space inside the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center (CVC). This project is located below grade, adjacent to the Capitol Building and within the physical and contractual confines of the Visitor Center. Grunley and its subcontractors constructed new meeting room, TV, radio, media and storage infrastructure spaces for both the U. S. Senate and the House of Representatives. This project won several awards, including:

  • Three 2008 Craftsmanship Awards from the Washington Building Congress
  • A 2008 Washington Contractor Award from the Associated General Contractors of America
  • A 2008 Local Construction Excellence Award from the Associated Builders & Contractors
  • A 2008 Award of Merit for Interior Fit-out from Mid-Atlantic Construction
