Connie Lai Delivers Guest Lecture in France

On Wednesday, October 7th, Connie Lai, Director of Historic Preservation, delivered a guest lecture to students at École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Versailles (ENSAV) in Versailles, France. Located within the historic royal stables of the Palace of Versailles, ENSAV provides an intensive architectural education focused on architecture, urban planning, and regional development. Invited by a professor and longtime friend, Connie discussed the influence of French architecture on the design of Washington, DC. Drawing on Grunley’s historic preservation projects throughout the National Mall, she demonstrated how our work helps protect some of the capital’s most significant buildings and the architectural principles they embody. The lecture gave students a unique perspective on the relationship between architectural history, preservation, and modern practice while showcasing Grunley’s role in preserving some of Washington’s most iconic landmarks.
